Ohlson Packaging has been delivering quality vertical form fill seal machines for decades, and know exactly how to deliver quality pillow bag projects.
Pillow bags are formed when roll-stock film is fed over a forming tube, which shapes the film into a tube matching the desired bag size. Heat sealing jaws seal the bottom of the bag, and after the product is dropped into the bag, the top of the bag is also sealed.
Side gussets, tear notches, and hole punches can all also be added to the bag design.
For a more detailed explanation of how the bag forming process works, you can see our blog article on the topic.
While perhaps most commonly associated with snacks such as candy or potato chips, pillow bags can be used with a variety of product types – including powder, liquid, or other types of fills. Accessories and options such as gas flush, zippered film integration, date code printing, and product settlers allow for almost limitless possibilities.
We work closely with our customers to understand their product needs, film layouts, and other needs – which means we deliver machines which meet (and exceed) their needs – the first time.
And because Ohlson can also deliver any type of filling equipment – from multi-head weighers and augers to piston filling – our engineers can deliver a full end-to-end solution.
